Two exceptional achievements by the steelworkers… at plants 1 and 2
23 heats and 24 casts in 24 hours…
Armed with great determination and self-confidence, the workers at Steel Plant No. 2 achieved a record not seen in 13 years by producing 23 heats and 24 casts in 24 hours yesterday, according to Mr. Mohamed Aburqaba, the general manager of steel.
Mr. Aburqaba added that, simultaneously, Steel Plant No. 1, for the first time in the company’s history, produced billets of size 150×150 mm to meet the needs of the long rolling mills.
Producing this size of billets requires extra effort and modifications, including changing several molds of the casting machines.
