Hot Testing at the Lime Factory
Keeping pace with the latest developments in the company’s factory upgrades to increase production capacity and the production of quicklime, the team led by the General Manager of Steel, Eng. Mohamed Aborqba, has completed the installation and integration of the new gas-fired logic control system “PLC Sematic S7” for the main kilns at the Lime and Dolomite Factory, replacing the old heavy oil system “PLC Sematic S5.”
The installation and integration work for the second vertical kiln at the Lime Factory was completed a month ago, with cold operation tests commencing. Today marked the start of hot testing to produce quicklime and dolomite, essential materials in steel production, which also contribute to extending the lifespan of steel furnaces.
This meticulous work required a significant amount of time, achieved thanks to the dedication and commitment of the company’s personnel to ensure work continuity as required.
