On Tuesday, the contract for the completion of the existing six-roll cold rolling project was signed with the Turkish company “Partner Teknik.”
This project is part of the general development plan that had been halted due to circumstances beyond control, as well as the failure of the initially contracted Italian companies to return and complete the project. The aim of this project is to produce cold-rolled coils and strips with a production capacity of approximately 200,000 tons annually, with thicknesses ranging from 0.20 mm to 3 mm, to meet local needs and export any surplus.
The time frame for completing the project is seven months, followed by four months for operational assistance. The scope of the new contract includes completing all previously unfinished electrical and mechanical work, conducting cold tests on the equipment, followed by hot tests, and finally moving to the trial operation and commercial operation stages.
The contract also includes a four-month period for operational assistance and training for technicians and engineers in operating and maintenance areas to equip them with the skills needed to achieve the required quality and specifications.
